St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago hosted its annual Lincoln Park Greek Fest May 31 thru June 2 where thousands of guests enjoyed authentic food, live music, dancing, arts & crafts, fun for the kids and more.

Happy participants feasted on souvlaki, gyros, pastichio, moussaka, spanakopita (spinach pie), salads, greek chicken and other fest favorites. Sweet treats included Greek frappe and St. George's famous Loukoumades (bite-sized dough balls dipped in honey).

Live entertainment was provided by Sixteen Candles and The Ormi Orchestra.

Niko's Red Mill Tavern in Woodstock kicked off another season of great outdoor live music with a high-energy show from Bella Cain, the hottest top 40 country group in the midwest.

Despite the cool weather, a robust crowd came out to enjoy great food, music and mingling in the comfort of Niko's spacious dining areas and patio. Happy customers enjoyed salads, burgers, wings, pizza, flaming Saganaki (OPA!), cocktails, beer and other house favorites.

Bella Cain dazzled the crowd with over 2 hours of music including covers by Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shania Twain and a fun rendition of "The Devil Came Down to Georgia."

Hellenic pride was on full display at the annual Greek Independence Day parade on May 5th in Chicago's famed Greektown. The fun and spirited event remembers the time when Greek revolutionaries and allies would rise up and gain victory over the oppressive Turkish empire in 1821.

Family and friends showed up on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and honored the floats and marchers representing churches and organizations from all across Chicagoland. Guests of the parade also enjoyed fellowship and dining at the many Greek restaurants on Halsted street.
